After my return from Santa Marta, the Colombian-American black metal band Inquisiton was to play in Bogota in the evening.

Black Metal in Bogota

I had booked a hostel nearby, where I was almost the only guest. It was called Rumbos Cafe Hostal. A very nice family, but it was more a homestay than a hostel experience.

I enjoyed the concert of the black metal band. The Colombians made a good atmosphere with their home band. But one of the audience was apparently on drugs, because he punched other guests. I got some too, so it wasn't that bad. The others kicked him down at the end in the truest sense of the word. Everyone as he deserves! After Inquistion, the American death metal band Incantation played, who also gave an excellent performance.

Bogotanos love their shopping centers

The inhabitants of Bogotá like to go to one of the many shopping centres, especially on weekends. I also went there the following Sunday, but it was packed. In general, Bogotá is so crowded with people that on the weekends it is difficult to get a seat somewhere in the good restaurants or bars.

An underground salt church

The next day I drove to Zipaquira, a bit far away from Bogotá. This town is famous for its mine, which has an underground church made of salt that is illuminated in purple. I took a one hour tour through the mine. Impressively beautiful! Furthermore it has a beautiful colonial old town with numerous buildings from the 18th century.

The last days in Bogota I spent in an apartment, where I had a great view of the surrounding mountains.

I left Bogotá and flew to Cali, the Salsa capital of the world.
