Rain in the bus and highway under water

The next morning I drove to Rosario. Usually such a bus ride takes only about 5 hours. But this day it rained exceptionally hard. It even rained into the bus. We had an accident and had to stop at a road house or more than 1 hour. Never before I had to stop on my journey because the bus had technical difficulties. But it happened in the country that is actually economically most developed and where bus tickets are the most expensive. The Argentineans don't like to spend money on product maintenance. Then that's what happens.

The name of the bus was "Empresa Argentina" (Argentine company). A great representation of the country, which is economically on the brink of collapse and has accumulated enormous debts.

We picked up speed again but only slowly and gradually we continued. The road was completely under water. The bus resembled more a boat than a road vehicle. Because of this I arrived in Rosario just before midnight.

The city of Lionel Messi

I only visited Rosario because Lionel Messi was born here and it is on the way to Chile. The famous FC Barcelona striker played here for Newell's Old boys when he was a kid. I went to see his stadium.

The city itself has not much to offer except the flag monument and a nice river promenade. Furthermore, the birthplace of Che Guevara is also located here.

Actually I planned to take the train further west from here. But that failed because the railway tracks were all completely under water.  So after 2 nights I continued my journey by bus and went to Cordoba, the second largest city of the country.
